Hello, and welcome to my classroom! My name is April Bond, and I am so pleased that you found a moment to visit our classroom blog! This is my 14th year teaching here in Goddard. Wow! Time really does fly when you're having fun. I am committed to working with your family to make this year a success for everyone!
I am originally from Holcomb, Kansas. I earned my teaching degree from Fort Hays State University in 1998 and a master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from WSU in 2002. I am the proud mother of 3 wonderful boys. Michael who is 9, Bradley who just turned 7, and my sweet babyTreyson (who isn't really a baby anymore) is 3. My husband, Adrian, teaches physical education in Wichita. We both feel very blessed to work in a field we both love and appreciative of the life we share.
I believe that all children can and will learn if taught in an authentic and engaging manner. I work very hard to create lessons and provide fun practice opportunities for my class to be able to master all necessary skills. The first lesson I teach my students is that I will always do my best to be FAIR to each of them. We learn that FAIR really means that everyone gets what everyone NEEDS. I treasure the simplicity of this lesson and the ease with which my classes always understand the concept. I will do my very best to mee the individual needs of each student in my classroom!
